Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today said that the Government is focusing on skill development of youth which will facilitate employability of trained human resource in ever-growing job market. The Deputy Chief Minister said this while addressing the youth during a programme organized by Centre for Border Youth Training and Empowerment (CBYTE) Jammu at village Arnia in Bishnah tehsil here today. MLA Bishnah, Dr. Kamal Arora and District Development Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh were present on the occasion. DDC Jammu, who is also the Chairman CBYTE Jammu, elaborated the concept of CBYTE saying that it has come into existence with an aim to equip the border youth, who are motivated towards joining Indian Defence Forces, with necessary physical and mental skills, thereby facilitating their recruitment into the armed forces. He added that six centres for medically fit border youth were opened in border blocks of R S Pura, Marh, Akhnoor and Khour which are working to enhance their academic ability and physical endurance. A total of 70 trainees are inducted in each centre after medical examination and are trained for 3 months without paying any fees for the training period, he further added. DDC also highlighted the achievements of CBYTE and informed the gathering that recently 17 boys who have undergone training in the centres have been finally selected in Indian Army and 32 have cleared the physical examination of J&K Police constable selections and have appeared for written examination. Dr. Nirmal Singh appreciated the DDC and his team for the initiative taken for the betterment of border youth and said that CBYTE has not only provided a platform to the youth to get trained for entry into Defence Forces but has also channelized their energy in a right direction. Dr. Singh also felicitated the youth who have been selected for Indian Army and applauded the efforts of the instructors and staff for imparting quality training to the boys. He assured them for all possible support for their all round development. Responding to the various issues raised on the occasion, Dr. Singh said that in recently announced 5 new IRP battalions, preferential treatment will be given to the youth of border areas. He also assured him that the issue of upgradation of roads and sports facilities will be taken up with the concerned departments. Meanwhile, to redress the grievances of general public at their door steps, Dr. Nirmal Singh, convened a public grievances redressal camp at Maralian in R S Pura. People in large number hailing from Suchetgarh, Bishnah, Arnia and R S Pura participated in the camp and apprised the Deputy Chief Minister of their problems and grievances. MLAR S Pura, Gagan Bhagat, District Development Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh and former MLA Bishnah Ashwani Sharma were also present in the camp. People raised several issues related to PDD, PHE Irrigation, Flood & Control, PWD(R&B), CA&PD, Revenue and allied departments. On spot queries were also responded by the senior officers of the department present in the camp. The Deputy Chief Minister assured the public of early redressal of their issues and directed the officers to take speedy action on the same. He also addressed many of the grievances put forth by the public on the spot while directing the officers for redressal of remaining issues at the earliest. Giving relief to the public from moving from one office to other to get Income certificate and disability certificate, Deputy CM directed DDC Jammu to organize special camp so that on spot certificates would be provided to the needy people. Responding to the issues related to CA&PD, he directed DDC to hold camp at Maralian and R S Pura so that the on spot corrections in the ration cards will be made.
