Dr.Gagan Bhagat M.L.A from R.S Pura met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday at Srinagar and discussed various issues of R.S Pura Constituency .He apprised the Chief Minister regarding the burning problem of “Drug Addiction” among the youth community in R.S Pura, he advocated to uplift the R.S Pura Sub-Division in Sports and in this regard he appealed to the C.M to initiate the process for establishing an International Cricket Stadium at Indiranagar at R.S Pura,and Bhour Camp in Chatha area of Gandhinagar Constituency, which was previously known as Tulip Garden, he said that since the said Tulip Garden was not feasible at that place and the previous coalition Govt. had tried to gain political mileage from the said garden and misutilized the funds, at present the said garden is abandoned and is completely destroyed in the Flash Floods which caused great damage in R.S Pura in the year 2014.Dr.Gagan told Mehbooba mufti that he had discussed the issue of International Cricket Stadium at R.S Pura last year with the late Chief Minister M.M Sayeed, who was very positive about the project ,he agreed for the same and assured his full cooperation in the project. Dr.Gagan Bhagat said that with this Stadium the State will have first International Cricket Stadium and the people can watch in reality the magic of International Cricket Stars , and above all it will also inspire the youth community to participate in sports and different games including Cricket .He appealed to the C.M to direct the concerned officials and department to prepare Detailed Project Report ( D.P.R ) so that it can be submitted to the Union Government for early and appropriate action, Dr.Bhagat also told the C.M that Dy.C.M Dr.Nirmal Singh ,M.P Jugal Kishore Sharma , MoS for Youth Services & Sports Sunil Sharma had also taken keen interest in the said project. As soon as the report is complete the matter will be taken up with Anurag Thakur, MP who happens to the President of the B.C.C.I. Dr.Gagan Bhagat also told the C.M that the farmer community is facing very hardships who are dealing with Basmati , as R.S Pura is known for Basmati Rice all over the world it is very unfortunate that now the farmer is hesitating from cultivating Basmati , which is not good for the R.S Pura, on this the C.M assured that she will soon take up the issue with the Agriculture department and will direct the officials to promote the Basmati cultivation ,harvesting and its sale to benefit the farmers, Dr.Gagan also appealed to shift the existing Fruit and Vegetable Mandi from main bazaar to some place outside the bazaar , so that the problem of traffic jam could be tackled and more and more farmers from surrounding Bishnah, Arnia, Treva ,Suchetgarh come to the R.S Pura Mandi, which will happen only when it is shifted outside main bazaar. Lastly Dr.Gagan Bhagat also appealed the C.M to give R.S Pura priority in the developmental works, and in the Police recruitment rallies which should be held at R.S Pura , he further added that his constituency was ignored for consecutively Eighteen straight years in the previous Coalition regime in which NC & Congress had played a vital anti-R.S Pura role, and due to that the people especially youths have to suffer a lot. Dr.Gagan thanked chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for giving time for the important issues of R.S Pura.
