When M.L.A R.S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat performed the AADHAR based transaction and “RuPAY” based transaction from village Keerpind of R.S Pura Constituency, it became a part of history, as it was the first village from J&K to become Digital enabled, which is a part of “Digital India revolution” ,started by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sponsored by the ICICI group , this “100 ICICI Digital villages Project” is under the direct supervision from the Union Ministry of Finance, it was all together inaugurated via video conferencing by the Union Minister for Finance and corporate affairs Sh.Arun Jaitley in the Union capital in the presence of senior officials of the ICICI group including its M.D & CEO Mrs. Chanda Kochher.While speaking on the occasion M.L.A R.S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat said that it was a proud moment for him, as the R.S Pura Constituency was selected on his request to the Union Finance Ministry when he came to know from the officials of the ICICI group, he also thanked Member Parliament from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister of J&K Nirmal Kumar Singh and State President & MLA from Jammu West Sat Sharma for their support in this project of “Sashakt Gaon-Samridhh Bharat” by the ICICI group.He further added that more than 10,000 youths were also trained in different trades and this skill development will be a part of the “Digital Village Project” and it is very important in the post Demonetization era that every Indian should be digitally literate to curb the corruption from the country, a common person is afraid to perform the digital transaction as numerous online fraud cases surfaced during the past four to five years, but now as the Union finance Ministry is directly supervising and closely monitoring the digital transaction and online transactions it is now very safe and secure, he urged the villagers, officials and the prominent persons present on the occasion to encourage the digital and online transactions to reach for New India. He also asked the other banks especially the J&K Bank to follow this initiative , in the far flung villages of J&K, he also urged the ICICI to start a “Skill Development Academy” in R.S Pura Constituency , so that the youths of the villages gets the benefit of skill development along with Digital literacy Officials who were present on the occasion included S.D.M R.S Pura Sushil Sharma, B.D.O Miran Sahib, Mohd.Sayeed, S.H.O Miran Sahib Ravinder Rakwal, CDPO R.S Pura S.Jasmeet Singh ,E.O R.S Pura Jodhraj ,BJP Mandal Pradhan Devender Sharma ,Ashok Salaria, Gurdeep Singh,Babbal Singh ,Sukhvinder Singh Sukhi, and officials from the ICICI group in J&K and prominent persons from Village Keerpind.
