Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today held several public meetings and inaugurated developmental works executed by ERA, UEED and PWD(R&B) in his constituency.
The Speaker was accompanied by SDM South, Sonu Pargal, Tehsildar South, Anil Magotra, BDO Satwari, A.K Khajuria, Xen UEED, Rajan Sharma, Xen PWD(R&B), Rajan Mengi, Deputy Project Manager ERA, Manjeet Kotwal, Xen JMC, S.K Wali besides prominent citizens and political activists of the area.
He visited Nai Basti, Satwari, Channi Himmat, Chatha Morh; inaugurated Black topping/Macadamization of road at Channi Himmat & Chatha & deep drain work at Nai Basti and also inspected ongoing work for deep drains at Channi Rama.
The officers informed the Speaker that initially few encroachments were creating hindrance for the execution of works at Nai Basti Nallah but they have been taken care off by the enforcement wing of JMC.
Terming Narendra Modi as “Architect of Transforming India”, the Speaker said that the BJP led government at the centre is extending all support to the state for its socio-economic development.
Besides this the state government is not leaving any stone unturned in providing the benefits of the centrally and state sponsored schemes to the general public.
The Speaker informed the locals that the work for construction of deep drain at digiana along with blacktopping of road at Nai Basti bazaar and digiana have been tendered and the same will be executed by the end of July.
He said that the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation “AMRUT” is the flagship program of the union government and the same is dedicated for establishing robust sewage networks and water supply for urban transformation.
“As a part of this program the state has received a handsome amount for transforming and remodelling the sewage, water and road network of the state; which is going to benefit the people of the state as a whole”, he added.
Elaborating the schemes of the government, he said that the schemes like swachh Bharat Mission, Housing for All along with other local schemes will be linked with the AMRUT in future for providing all basic facilities to the people.
