As part of Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan and National Panchayat Day, Bharatiya Janata Party workers organised Gram Kisan Sabha at different villages in Budgam and Anantnag districts of Kashmir, on Thursday.
The theme of the programme is ‘Kisan Welfare’
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, BJP State Vice-President, Moti Kaul said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced series of new schemes in interest of farmers.
Kaul gave detailed information about various schemes including Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, PM Irrigation Scheme, Soil Health Scheme and others.
“Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign was launched by the government to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and was aimed at development of villages,” he said, adding, the state government led by BJP is running various schemes for development of farmers for their prosperity.
Kaul also said that to protect the interest of farmers and villagers, the government has made a provision of giving financial assistance in situations like crop loss, house damage, livestock loss and other losses.
“BJP is committed to hike financial assistance to be given to farmers under Revenue Circular Book during any natural disasters,” he said.
The BJP workers of Kupwara district also organized the program under the leadership of Mohammad Jamal, BJP District President Kupwara.
Present on the occasion were Arif Raja BJP Kashmir Protocol Incharge , Ghulam Hassan Khan District President Budgam and Mohammad Rafiq Wani Party’s District President Anantnag.
