Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary, Lal Singh, said that the Government is mulling a comprehensive forest policy to ensure preservation of state’s green gold besides checking deforestation and environmental degradation.
This was informed by them Minister while addressing a public redressal grievances darbar at Kathua.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, A K Singh, Director Soil Conservation, Ravi Kesar, Managing Director State Forest Corporation Arun Tikoo, Director Social Forestry Suresh Chugh, Director Forest Protection Force Suresh Gupta, Joint Director Forests Protection Force Kh. Qamar-ud-Din, Chief Conservator of Forests Ecotourism and Wild Life Protection Force A K Gupta besides Divisional Forest Officers of Social Forestry, Soil Conservation, Forests, Wild Life and Executive Engineer, PHE, PDD, R&B, RDD of Kathua district were present in the darbar.
For providing all basic amenities to Kathua, Bani, Basholi, Billawar and its adjoining areas, Lal Singh said that Government is evolving an effective mechanism to ensure that the people get better services that too in a total hassle free manner.
The Minister directed the officers to pay regular field visits in their respective jurisdictions and mitigate the development related issues of the people. He exhorted upon the officers to redouble their efforts and work for the betterment of the people and said that any laxity in this regard would not be tolerated.
Choudhary Lal Singh said that the developmental works launched in every nook and corner of the district will be completed in a time bound manner and asked the people to personally monitor the quality and pace of works.
