The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fulfilled the promises made with the minority communities in its manifesto in last year’s Lok Sabha elections throughout the state.
The ministry of minority affairs, led by dynamic personality, Dr Najma Heptulla has done a lot for the welfare of minority in the country. More than 85.40 Lakh minority students received scholarships and more than Rs. 2009 Crore were released under the various Schlorships Scehmes of this Ministry.
“74.96 lakh students received Pre-Matric Scholarships incurring expenditure to the tune of RS. 1129.27 Crore and 10.44 lakh students received post-Matric and merit-cum-Means based Scholarships,” Dr. Najma Heptulla said , adding, for the first time the Scholarship amount were credited directly into the bank account of the students through DBT mode. The amount released under these two schemes is Rs. 879.97 Crore.
On this occasion newly elected State President Shri Sat Sharma facilitated by the party leaders at Hotel centaur Said, under the scheme of ‘Naya Savera’, financial support for free coaching to prepare Minority students for competitive examination for professional Courses and Govt. jobs were made possible.
Under the scheme of ‘Nai Udaan’, financial support to candidate who qualify preliminary examination conducted by UPSC and SSC state public commission, RS. 2.96 Crore was spent for supporting 786 minority candidates for preparation of mains examination.
The scheme of ‘Padho Pardesh’ was operational zed during 2014-15. Under this scheme 573 students received interest subsidy amounting to Rs. 3.50 Crore.
Under free Coaching and allied Scheme including new component (intensive coaching along with classes for students 11th and 12thwith science Subject), 8118 candidates have been covered incurring an expenditure of Rs. 31.34 Crore.
On this occasion MLC Sofi Yousf also said that these initiatives were taken to ensure the young and the girl children in particular get education and jobs without discrimination.
