Shri Daljit Singh Chib, (MoS), Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans inaugurate the new paddy procurement Centre at Jourian.
While inaugurating, the Vice Chairman said that that the farmers would sell their produce directly to food Corporation of India (FCI). He said the benefit of having procurement Centers the farmers had to go through lot of hardships to sell their produce at appropriate price .He said that FCI is providing them an opportunity to get maximum return of their harvest to stop the monopoly of the middle man.
He said that new procurement policy is a farmer friendly to have easy access to the Government established procurement Centers at a very close distance. He said that our country has successfully introduced the mechanism of procurement so that farmers can be encouraged to carry on with the agriculture activities and get maximum returns due to pro farmer policies of the Government.
While addressing he said that due to hard efforts J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans, the highest procurement was recorded in the Jammu region last year. He said that Government has approved rate of Rs.1510 for paddy grade A and Rs.1470 for paddy common which will be procured by the Food Corporation of India.
The Director Agriculture , Jammu Shri A.K.Malhotra, Chief Agriculture officer , Jammu Shri R. L. Bhagat ,SDAO Akhnoor Shri Som Nath Sharma, General Managar FCI, Jammu, Shri Kishore Kumar &the members of J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans i.e Surinder Singh, Ankush Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
