Deputation of officers from Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. Officers Association BJP led by its President Sanjeev Sharma and others visited BJP state headquarter, Trikuta Nagar. The association met with the BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State General Secretary Harinder Gupta to present their issue before the top leadership of BJP. Convenor BJP State Cooperative Cell H. S. Pammi also accompanied the deputation to effectively present the case before the top leadership.
Deputation presented their charter of demand before the leadership and apprised them of their concern about the announcement made by Finance Minister Hasseb Drabu about merger of banks during his speech made in the budget session of Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The deputation focused on the fact that the Jammu Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., Jammu is working sincerely since its inception in 1914 by his highness Sh. Maharaja Hari Singh for the betterment of Jammuites. They said that this bank presently has the business of 2200 crore rupees and customer base of around 10 lakh people. They said that the move will erode the independent status of the bank and will dilute its purpose.
Sat Sharma informed the deputation that this matter is already discussed in internal meeting of party. He assured the deputation that BJP will review the matter in detail once again in the party meeting and take up the matter with the Co-operative Minister Chering Dorjey. He said that the matter will also be appropriately taken up with the Finance Minister. He assured that no such move will be allowed to be taken which will compromise with standard working of the bank.
Ashok Kaul also assured that all the concerns of the bank will be taken appropriate care. He said that BJP will make sure that the Identity of age old house is well preserved and it continues serving the society in a better way.
Association Vice-President Ajay Singh, General Secretary S. K. Dutta, Sanjay Mahajan, Rajeev Gupta, Randheer Kotwal and others were among the prominent persons who accompanied the deputation.
BJP leaders Arvind Gupta, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Rajinder Singh Chib, Rajnish Jain, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and others were also present on the occasion.
