Dr. Gagan Bhagat MLA from R.S Pura yesterday laid foundation stone of Shopping complex at R.S Pura Bus Stand, where large number of people from the R.S Pura market, presidents of various business and commercial organization, people from social, religious and all walks of life were present to witness the occasion.While addressing the gathering Dr.Gagan Bhagat said that this project was the need of the hour and since the Bus Stand of R.S Pura is one of the most busiest Bus Stand in Jammu and Kashmir, but the previous successive governments and the public representatives did not paid attention towards the Bus Stand of R.S Pura.The said project will be completed within one year and around 13 shops will be taken up in the first phase and an amount of 40 Lacs approx. Will be spent on this project, besides this there will be all the modern and essential facilities for the passengers which will include Air Conditioned waiting hall ,Modern Sulabh Shauchalya, special bay for the old and disabled persons, in which twenty buses can be parked at a time, blacktopping of the whole bus stand.Dr Gagan Bhagat laid stress on the LED lightning of the whole Bus Stand along with beautification with flowering plants, and he focussed on the security of the passengers and also directed the concerned authorities to install CCTVs in and around the Bus Stand along with Food Court for the refreshment of the passengers. The locals thanked the legislator and said that it is the largest investment at the Bus Stand for the last 40 years and they in voice appreciated the efforts and developmental works started by Dr.Gagan Bhagat in the R.S Pura Constituency, and this face lift and renovation to the Bus Stand and special facilities will certainly benefit the passengers who had no facility at all at the R.S Pura Bus Stand. While addressing the gathering Director Urban Local Bodies Soujanya Sharma said that the demands were put forward by the M.L.S R.S Pura in the recently concluded District Development Board meeting at Jammu and in a record time the department had initiated the process, he futher informed the gathering that Dr.Gagan Bhagat had desired to beautify the main road especially from S.K.U.A.S.T main gate to the Suchetgarh Road Chowk and in this regard directions have been issued to the concerned technical experts who will submit a detailed report within a fortnight. Dr Gagan Bhagat while talking to the media said that this Shopping Complex will create job opportunity and a platform to start their own ventures by the youths in particular, besides the essential facilities will benefit the passengers and he has also asked the agency to also construct a resting room for the drivers and conductors at R.S Pura Bus Stand.One work project will be taken up under the Convergence scheme and a Green Belt and Walkway will be built from the PVC Bana Singh Stadium to the Veterinary research Laboratory, besides construction of a Rotary in front of the SKUAST R.S Pura ,which would give a face lift to the entrance point of the R.S Pura town.There is also a proposal sent to the department for construction of modern Passenger Sheds on the prominent stops at the R.S Pura to Jammu road. At present there are no sheds for the passengers on the Jammu-R.S Pura route, and the passengers have to stand in the hot sun and in the rain, soon they will get those much needed sheds on the main waiting points on the road side.Dr.Gagan Bhagat further asked the youths in particular to share their experiences on Social Networking sites regarding the Union and their Coalition Govt. in the State, and can contact him for the feedback and important suggestions, as he want to involve everyone in the process of development of the R.S Pura.Later on Dr.Gagan Bhagat along with the other officers took a round at the Daljeet chowk and Bus Stand market and interacted with the shopkeepers .On the occasion E.O R.S Pura Jodhraj, Tehsildaar R.S Pura, S.D.P.O R.S Pura, S.H.O R.S Pura Harish Dayama I.P.S,A.E.E (U.L.B), A.E.E (R.N.B) ,B.D.O R.S Pura , Mandal Pradhan Natharam, BJP City President Inder Sudan,Charanjeet, Avtar Singh ,Bodh Raj, Sachin Chopra,Sunny Mahajan,Ranjeet Singh, Hazoori Singh,Sushil Sharma,Sarpanch Vinod Sharma, Sarpanch Bahadur ,Sarpanch Satvinder Sodhi,Surkhi Kumar,and others were present.
