Inspects ongoing works; calls for proper Solid Waste Management System
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, visited several Power Projects in Kargil. He also inspected the ongoing developmental works being executed by the Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD) in and around the Kargil town.
The Deputy Chief Minister inspected the 20 MW receiving station at Kurbathang and called on the concerned officers and engineers to work with missionary zeal so as to ensure provision of uninterrupted power supply to the general public.
Dr. Singh also visited the 100 MVA capacity grid station at Kurbathang and stressed on early completion of the grid and the 220 KVA transmission line. The project is being executed at a cost of Rs. 9.27 crore and is expected to be completed by next year.
During his visit of the 3 MW Iqbal Project, the Deputy CM impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure early completion of renovation and remodeling works there.
He was accompanied by the Development Commissioner Power, Asgar Ali, SE PDD, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Executive Engineers of M&RE and STD besides other concerned officers and engineers.
Earlier, Dr. Singh inspected the ongoing developmental works executed by the H&UDD in Kargil town and its surrounding areas. He also visited the garbage disposal points at Titichumik and Kurbathang and directed the concerned officers to formulate DPRs for proper solid waste management systems.
The Dy CM also visited the New Bus Stand Kargil and directed the officers to build permanent structures for street vendors. He instructed for formulation of DPRs in this regard at the earliest.
