BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, during his first day of his three day touring of Poonch district assembly constituencies, chaired and addressed a meeting of party activists at Mendhar alongwith State Secretary Sunil Gupta and local leaders.
Ashok Koul in his address, said that the BJP is getting strengthened in every part of the state and the people living in even remote and far flung areas have displayed enthusiasm towards getting associated with BJP. It is the result of the people-centric and pro-development policies and programmes of the BJP-led NDA government at the centre as well as the governance by BJP while in coalition for ten months in the previous government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“In this era of fast means of communication, the people cannot be misled as they get every information and whatever the BJP has been doing for development and welfare of the people has made them realise that governments under this party are really committed for common masses”, Ashok Koul said and added that the party stands for equal treatment to all the regions in all matters and at all levels.
Stating that the party activists have to serve like a bridge between the people and their organisation, Koul stressed upon them to work towards reaching the people and highlight the achievements of Narendra Modi government at the centre and explain to them the various projects like extending rail link to their district, widening of roads, insurance schemes for farmers and poor, provision of major share of border youth in newly approved IRP battalions, exclusive welfare schemes for women etc. The party activists must assure the people that BJP will never compromise on the interests of any region and continue to work to fulfil the promises made to them, he said.
Sunil Gupta spoke on the local issues and expressed gratitude to the party for taking keen interest in development of areas which are far away from district and tehsil headquarters.
The meeting was also addressed by party’s candidate in last election Zulfiqar Pathan, Mndal Presidents Devinder Tandon and Mr. Choudhary.
