Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) through Director, IIM, Lukhnow and Jammu & Kashmir Higher Education Department through its Commissioner Secretary for establishment of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Jammu is a step that goes on to show that Narendra Modi government is firm on fulfilling its commitments for J&K state. Promptness in taking up the work for establishing Transit Campus in Jammu is yet one more evidence of the commitment fulfilled by the government under Prime Minister Modi.
This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan while terming it yet one more historic and landmark decision for the benefit of the youth of this border state. “The day is not far when Jammu will become a hub of quality education”, claimed BJP Spokesperson over granting of the said prestigious institution further adding that successive governments at the Centre in the past had ignored Jammu.
The present government at the Centre is giving due preference to Jammu region in the matters of its development; establishment of academic, technical and medical institutions, granting special grant for the infrastructure and other amminities. The sanctioning of AIIMS, IIT, IIM and Institute of Mass Communication speak of the commitment of the government at the centre and that in the state towards treating Jammu equal. It shows that BJP is committed to serve the people of the state, in particular those of Jammu region and address their grievances pending for many years.
The BJP Spokesperson further said that in this modern and high tech era of latest means of education, the setting up of IIM at Jammu will open more avenues of quality education for the local youth of Jammu & Kashmir, most of whom, otherwise might not afford or be able to go to other states to pursue higher studies in institutions like Indian Institute of Management. Above all, he asserted that in addition to opportunities of quality education for J&K youth, the IIM will also generate employment and offer job opportunities to educated and technically qualified youth of the state. In all, the IIM will serve the twin purpose of quality education and at the same time provide jobs to many deserving youth, BJP leader said.
