Inspired by the pro-people and pro-development programmes and policies of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the State, a large number of prominent Muslims from Kashmir Valley joined BJP in a programme held at Trikuta Nagar Office, Jammu. They were garlanded and welcomed into the party fold by BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A), MLC Surinder Ambardar and other leaders.
Sat Sharma, on this occasion, said that BJP wave is witnessed in the length and breadth of the country and the state of J&K too is not untouched by it. With each passing day more and more people are joining BJP in Kashmir as they have realized that their interests, the intersts of the state and that of nation can only be safeguarded by BJP. The programmes and policies of Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the BJP coalition in the state have made it clear to the people that they should strengthen this party. He said that the people in Kashmir have been facing hardships due to bandh calls, strikes, stone pelting incidents and are yearing for return of peace for which their hopes lie on BJP and its governments. The people in Kashmir want to defeat the pro-Pak and anti-national forces and hence they are coming into the BJP fold.
MLC Surinder Ambardar, who is known for his understanding organizing skills on Kashmir was instrumental in denting in the crucial constituency in Kashmir pinned hope that BJP will be instrumental in changing the discourse in Kashmir.
Prominent among those who joined BJP included Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, Ghulam Rasool Lone, Dr. Ali Mohd., Mohd. Assalam Lone, Mohd. Maqbool Sheikh, Ghulam Mohd. Beigh, Rahul Bhat, Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh, Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh.
BJP State Vice-President Bharat Bhushan, State Secretaries Sanjay Baru Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana and Sunil Gupta, MLA & SC Morcha State President Dr. Devinder Manyal were present on the occasion.
