Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP and Kashmir Pandit leader said that the Chinese pendamic has created a challenging situation for the whole humanity. “Observance of self-discipline is the major key that will defeat the deadly CoronaVirus decisively”, Chrungoo said.

Chrungoo in his address said that Caronavirus is a similar challenge as Terrorism for the globe. The official response of India to this grave global situation should be supported by the non-governmental initiatives at a massive scale. Public participation is absolutely important.
He dwelt on recent political developments and said, “the recent decision of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regarding change of name of its J&K sub-division to ‘Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzafarabad’ is both path breaking and historic”.
“It will pave way for more follow-up desicions on ground regarding Jammu and Kashmir which have been delayed for the last seven decades”. He said that these desicions were withheld by the previous governments due to their policy paralysis in this regard.
In a subtle change, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has started issuing weather bulletin for areas under the Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), including Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad region. The weather agency now lists local weather report and forecast for towns in Gilgit-Baltistan region in its daily forecast for ‘north-west India’. Chrungoo said that Ghizer, the area in the far-west region of Ghakuch in PoJK will also be uploaded shortly by the IMD.
The IMD website is now showing the daily weather conditions in towns such as Muzaffarabad, Skardu, Nilam, located in Gilgit-Baltistan region. Chrungoo emphasized that India has always maintained that PoJK is a part of India, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly continues to reserve 24 seats for constituencies belonging to PoK even after 5th August 2019 historic constitutional changes.
The Government of India has responded appreciably to the illogical and irrelevant desicion of the Supreme Court of Pakistan announcing elections for Gilgit-Baltistan. It has been clarified that the Apex Court of Pakistan has no locus standi in the illegally occupied parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Chrungoo also castigated the ASEAN coalition of 20 NGOs, expressing their objection to the recent decision by Labour Party of the UK under its new leader Keir Starmer to turn around its position on the issue of Kashmir. He said that it is their undue interference in the internal affairs of both UK and India and the concerned governments need to look into the antecedents of these NGOs.
These NGOs need to be blacklisted forever and the UK government also need to advised as such by the government of India. He appealed to the government of India to ban their connections in India and particularly in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
