BJP MLA from Nowshera Ravinder Raina, during the question hour in J&K Assembly,highlighted the problems of Nowshera and Sunderbani towns and demanded the special package the the development of twin towns of his constituency. On Tuesday, Speaking on his starred question, AQ No:-530 , Raina said the lanes and the drains of Nowshera and Sunderbani towns are in shamble condition and needs immediate assistance from the government for the development and the maintance. He during the visit of Deputy Chief minister Rs.1crore for Nowshera and Rs.1 Crore separately for Sunderbani were announced for the development of these two towns, but no progress s made so far. He said for the de-congestion of Sunderbani market a proposal for the construction of alternative by-pass road from Old bus stand Sunderbani to Hospital Connecting Kathanu was submitted but tenders not floated yet and also demanded that the various works proposed under Nowshera MC and Sunderbani MC should immediately be started including the construction of lane by laying NTC interlocking tiles from Mukhergi Chowk to Dusheera ground via Quarter mohalla-Nowshera. Raina showed the serious concern for Darshan Nagar area of Nowshera town which is kept out of the jurisdiction of municipal committee and said that inspite of repeated requests in Assembly and DDB’s meeting, no action is taken in this regard and asked the speaker to issue necessary directions to the concerned authorities to incorporate Darshan Nagar in Nowshera MC. Replying to the questions of MLA Nowshera, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal said director ULB-Jammu personally visited the Sunderbani and Nowshera and submitted the reports regarding the developmental works to the department. He said both towns are historically very significant towns and the the heritage of our State, he said during his tour to both the towns he announced Rs.1 Crore each for both the towns and have received the DPR and very soon works will be started. He assured the MLA that the proposal for the Construction of by-pass road in Sunderbai town and Construction of road/ lane from Mukhergi Chowk to Dusshera ground via Quarter mohalla shall be taken up shortely, he said DPR of Snderbani by-paas road is already prepared and very soon tender will be floated and gave instructions to the departmentto frame the DPR of the road from Mukhergi Chowk to Dusshera ground and subsequently tender the work as early as possible. On the issue of Darshan Nagar, Dr. Nirmal Singh assured the member that he will look into this matter personally and sought it out very shortly, Dr Singh assured the member that after the assembly session he will visit Nowshera and Sunderbani and will review the ongoing works and will prepare comprehensive developmental plan for the area.
