Dy CM Dr Nirmal Singh informed the Legislative Assembly that the government has spent Rs 17.53 crore on power infrastructure under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) across the state in two years.
Replying to a question by Dr Devender Kumar Manyal, the Dy CM said that Rs 46.00 lakh BADP works were completed in the District Samba during the year 2015-16 and 2016-17, while Rs 2.71 crore was allotted for the year 2017- 18, of which Rs 2.15 crore were spent till ending December 2017. He said the funds were spent on augmentation of seven 11/0.4 KV Sub-Stations along with HT/LT network. He said apart this, RAPDRP Part-B is also under execution in Samba District to improve and upgrade power infrastructure.
Responding to another part of the question, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the capacity of the 66/11 KV Receiving Station, Thalote and Rahiyan has been augmented from 5 MVA to 10 MVA each
Deputy Chief Minister further told the House that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) amounting to Rs.27. lakh has been formulated for Revamping/Improvement of 1×3.15 MVA, 33/11 KV Receiving Station Mandal Block has been prepared. The work shall be taken up as and when the funds are provided.
