State Coordinator, Union Minister of Minority Affairs & BJP Senior leader Sakina Bano, has been honoured with Medal of Merit in recognition of special distinguished and continuous services to the movement of Bharat Scouts & Guides. The certificate of appreciation and a medal was presented to Sakina Bano in a function organised at Bharat Scouts & Guides office at Jammu.
Minister of Education Nayeem Akhtar, Chief Commissioner N.K. Khan, Director Sports, Vice-President Scouts & Guides Sohail Qazmi and Smt. Roma Wani, handed over the medal of Merit and the certificate of Appreciation.
Expressing her gratitude for showering such an honour upon her, Sakina Bano said that Bharat Scouts & Guides is a very prominent organization which has been serving the society in different ways. It gives informal education, works for all round development of one’s skills, teaches discipline and prepares the young people for a better and successful future besides inculcating nationalist feelings among them. “Being associated with such an organization is itself a pride”, she said and added that the young generations should join Bharat Scouts & Guides and serve the society.
Sakina Bano has been associated with Bharat Scouts & Guides since 1960 while she was a class three student. During all these years, she has served the organization in various capacities before being elevated as State Advisor.
Sakina Bano, Retired Chief Education Officer, has earned the distinction of a being a very prominent social activist as well. During her association with BJP, she has served as Mahila Morcha State President, BJP State Vice-President and State Working Committee Member.
