Visits LoC areas of Rajouri,instructs for immediate water and electric supply
Pressing upon government to make permanent rehabilitation policy for border firing victims, Member Legislative Council and senior BJP leader Advocate Vibodh Gupta has said that people on LoC and International Border are worst sufferer due to Indo-Pak exchange of fire and there is no Rehabilitation Policy for them.
During tour to LoC areas Sasalkote,Jatote,Keri and Tridwal in Rajouri District, MLC Vibodh Gupta has said that the condition of the residents in border areas are miserable and they are suffering a lot due to basic amenities like water and power supply.
Accompanied by Officers of PHE and PDD, the MLC took the stock of the water and power crises in these areas and instructed officers to take immediate measures to provide these people drinking water and electricity. He said that these people on one side are suffering due to lack of basic facilities and on the other side they are facing life threat due to tensions on border.
Demanding permanent solution of their problem, Vibodh Gupta said that there is need of Permanent Resettlement Policy for border firing victims. He said that when guns turns silent, these people again starts residing near Border or LoC but they are again targeted by Pakistan forcing them again to leave their houses. He said that if government think on their permanent resettlement, they will also live life comfortably and honourably. He added that he will project the demand of Permanent Rehabilitation Policy before Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Central Government so that people on borders and LoC take a sigh of relief.
Appreciating State and Central Government for drafting a plan of bunkers on LoC areas, Vibodh said that Chief Minister has already made commitments with the people for making permanent Bunkers in houses and community bunkers in villages. He said that it is a good idea to save the lives and livestock of people during firing and shelling on border. He said that the work on this proposal is expected to be started soon as both state and centre government are sincere for safety and welfare of people living on LoC and International border.
Lauding the role of people living on LoC, Vibodh said that these people have always shown patriotism and have helped forces in tracing out terrorists infiltrating into our side. He said that Army is also helping local people on LOC and people are thankful to Army for this. He said that during the wars with Pakistan , these people not only scarifies lives but also lost everything and they deserve to be given special treatment from government. “I will discuss the matter with CM and Centre to provide financial aid to the people for settlement in safer places’, he added.
