To access damages due to rains, BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu District President, Rekha Mahajan today visited rain affected houses of Ashok Nagar and took stock of the prevailing situation. She interacted with the people and listened to their grievances. She expressed serious concern over the situation arising out of the recent incessant rains in various localities of Jammu city. She said that coalition Govt is committed to take measures to prevent water logging and over flowing of drains. She said that the Govt is taking the plight of people seriously, in view of heavy losses suffered by them. She said that Govt is making every possible effort and taking effective initiatives to ensure smooth supply of water supply and electricity. Mrs Mahajan further said that the government is very much concerned about the prevailing situation and the safety of the people. She assured the people that government will take every step to improve drainage system and streamline the water supply in the vulnerable areas. She said a comprehensive project needs to be made so that a long term solution is ensured and people are saved from miseries in the monsoon season. She asked the JMC authorities to start work on lanes, drains and black topping of roads, adding that deep drains should be constructed in the area so as to avoid frequent choking. On this occasion she was accompanied by Veena Bakshi District Vice President Mahila Morcha and other Local BJP activists of the area.
