The Doda-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency ‘Tiranga Yatra’, on reaching Chenani, was received by BJP State Secretary & Udhampur District Prabhari Anil Parihar, local MLA Dina Nath Bhagat and other leaders.
Later, they led it and passed through main bazars of Chenani town and also addressed public to brief about the motive of taking out such yatra.
Anil Parihar said that it is indeed a rare moment in his political life that he has been chosen by the party to be part of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ being taken out in connection with celebrations of the 70th Independence Day. He said that although the people of his generation were not part of the struggle for freedom which bore fruits in 1947 but getting associated with the Yatra in honour of the tricolour and the great martyrs is itself a matter of satisfaction. He said that simply hoisting flag on Independence Day or Republic Day is not just enough. We should make a habit in our daily life to devote some time to ensure that we spread the message of Independence, Unity and need to strengthen the social fabric of the society so that no one succeeds in nefarious designs.
MLA Dina Nath Bhagat said that the present situation in the state needs unity among the nationalist forces so that those posing threat to the unity and integrity of the country are not in a position to raise their heads.
BJP District General Secretary (Org.) Puran Chand, State Executive Member Krishan Lal Sharma, Chenani Mandal President Deepak Chander, Mandal Vice President Manik Gupta also accompanied the Yatra.
