Usha said that the international women day is being celebrated with a clear motive to highlight the problems of the women and educate the society about the important role of women. She also said that the need of the time is that the women should be granted reservations in the decision making bodies so that they are politically empowered.
Ayodhya said the responsibility to provide a conducive and protective atmosphere to the girl child rests first with the family and then the society at large. He said the BJP pdp coalition Government had introduced some path-breaking women welfare schemes including Laadli Beti, Aasra and Marriage Assistance in the State to address the concerns of girl child right from the birth to adulthood and provide financial security to them.
