In order to upgrade the sports infrastructure at the mini stadium Parade a project was launched by MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta and Sh. Ashok Koul General Secretary organisation .
The foundation stone for the project was laid by the two leaders today and the project is estimated to cost rupees 70 lakhs.
MLA Rajesh Gupta while inaugurating the sports project said that this project is dedicated to the memory of Pt.Prem Nath Dogra Ji who was an avid sportsman himself and used to play football in his younger days.Rajesh Gupta said that we want to upgrade the entire sports infrastructure in the Jammu city in order to provide an outlet to our younger generation to participate in the sports activities.Rajesh Gupta said that we had organised a prestigious football tournament last year in the name of Pandit Ji which was a huge success and we plan to so this year also.
Shri Ashok Koul General Secretary organisation BJP while speaking on the occasion said that sports is one of the best mediums to unite the nation. He said that we need a total overhaul of the sports policy in order to provide opportunities to all the youngsters to express themselves and become well balanced individuals. He said that sports is a medium that develops leadership qualities and also keeps younger generations away from bad influences.He said that great saint and philosopher Swamy Vivekananda used to play football in orde to keep himself fit.
MLA Rajesh Gupta was also accompanied by senior BJP leaders Distt. President Jammu Baldev singh balloria, Distt President Jammu west sh. Ayodhya gupta, Distt. Gen sec Vinay gupta, sunil sharma, Prof sham & Gobind sareen and also accompanied by state sports council joint secretary Sh.Shiv kumar sharma, Ashok singh, Satish gupta and also accompanied by PWD Sports council officials AEE Rakesh saraf, AEE satish langer JR.Eng.RP sharma, Satpal sharma, Sh. Gandral.
