Abolishing Helicopter services tax boon for tourists,pilgrims :BJP

BJP State General Secretary, Harinder Gupta, in a press statement, said that the recent decision of the Jammu and Kashmir State Government to do away with the sales tax on the Helicopter services will promote tourism and religious pilgrimages in all the three regions of the State.

Harinder Gupta said that the decision to abolish sales tax is also going to be of great advantage for the people visiting the world famous Hindu shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi situated at Katra on the Trikuta Hills. Similarly it will prove to be a big boon for lakhs of pilgrims of different religions visiting their religious places in different parts of the state.

Harinder Gupta said that this also comes as a big relief for the Hindu pilgrims, who visits the holy cave round the year. There are many such people who can not take long travellings due to their old age or health conditions but want to perform religious obeisances at their respective shrines and caves.

The BJP State General Secretary further said, this can also be seen as the major step to boost the tourism sector in the Jammu region also and is sure to yield the positive results.

He also made a reference to the order issued recently by the Finance Department, Jammu & Kashmir Government, in which the said tax has been abolished officially. He said that the party appreciates the decision of the BJP coalition government and expressed hope that more and more people will now be in a position to avail helicopter services.
