Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC) on Wednesday launched a signature campaign in support of establishment of Shrine Board for Mata Maha Kali Temple (Bawe Wali Mata).
Demanding better facilities for the devotees, Rajeev Charak president BFDC said that state government deliberately ignored the demand.
“We have been demanding Shrine Board for Mata Maha Kali Temple for developing facilities as well as Bawe Wali Mata Temple since 1997 but the all successive government has so far has paid no heed to the matter,” he alleged.
“There is some conspiracy to put the demand on back burner to save the interest of a particular family (priests of the temple), who looted the wealth of temple with impunity from years,” he said.
“It is unfortunate that again on eve of Navratra, we have to stand outside the temple shrine to demand constitution of shrine board for Bawe Wali Mata temple,” he said.
Charak appealed to governor of J&K, N N Vohra to look into the matter and constitute Shrine Board so that the development works could take place and Bawe Wali Mata Mandir becomes an attractive tourist place at the earliest.
He also informed that BFDC will hold 72-hour Dharana in support of shrine board at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk, near Tawi Bridge from April 4.
Charak said signatures obtained on the issue will be forwarded to Governor to urge for his earlier intervention in matter.
