To discuss the prevailing situation in the Valley as well as the overall political situation in the state and share views and suggestions to present the viewpoint of the party in a right perspective through print & electronic media on important issues, the State BJP held meeting of its State Spokespersons at Trikuta Nagar office on Friday.

BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma, along with State General Secretary (organization) Ashok Koul chaired this meeting.

Sat Sharma, while seeking details related to the day to day functioning of the Media Cell and the routine activities of the Spokespersons, said that the party has bestowed them with an important and different responsibility as compared to the other activists of the BJP and they have to be very cautious while discharging their duties and going public through a positive, balanced and effective manner. He said that in the State of Jammu and Kashmir the opposition parties have unleashed a misleading campaign against the BJP and its coalition government and in such a situation the Spokespersons have to expose these parties for their false propaganda. The Spokespersons have one more important responsibility to highlight the people-centric policies and programmes of the BJP-led NDA government at the centre and the BJP coalition in the State and they must not forget that they are the face of the party and whatever they speak or give in written becomes the official viewpoint of the party.

Ashok Koul spoke on various related activities and stressed upon the Spokespersons to guide and help the party activists dealing the media at district levels so that they too are in a position to handle the issues and put forth the line of the party in a better way.
