‘Organizes run from Ram Munshibagh to Lalit gate’
SRINAGAR, Dec 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir celebrated former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday as nation ‘Good Governance Day’ on Sunday in Srinagar.
The party organized a run from Ram Munshibagh to Lalit gate on Gufkar road in which dozens of party workers participated.
The marathon was flagged off by party’s state publicity secretary Dr Ali Mohammad Mir, who also was the chief guest on the occasion. “We are celebrating Vajpayee’s birthday as ‘Good Governance Day’ as promised by the party headed by PM Narendra Modi for the prosperity of India,” Dr Mir said, adding, the mission was to end corruption, nepotism in the society.
The event was presided by District President Srinagar, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, who, while speaking on the occasion said that BJP was committed to the promise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Vajpayee ji believes in Insaniyat, Jamhooriyat and Kashmiriyat for which BJP is committed and fulfill its promises,” Bhat said.
Media Incharge Kashmir, Altaf Thakur said that ‘Good Governance Day’ reminds the achievements of senior party leader Vajpayee’s vision and commitment of development. “BJP ruled states are at par with non- BJP ruled states in the country because of party’s Good Governance mission,” Thakur said.

BJYM leaders also participated in the run. State Vice President BJYM, Er Aijaz Hussain, State Secretary, Bilal Ahmad Parray also participated in the event.
