A deputation of BJP Core Committee of Katra led by MoS Finance & local MLA Ajay Nanda, called on BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A) and State General Secretary (Org). Ashok Kaul at Trikuta Nagar Office to apprise them of the situation arisen as a result of the decision of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) to construct new track connecting Ban Ganga to Ardhkwari.
They told that there was large scale resentment and anger among the entire traders of Katra town and there is an urgent need that the party interferes to convince the Governor and the Chief Executive Officer to reconsider decision of SMVDSB.
The Core Committee further told that the existing road is the part of historic and traditional route and neither any shopkeeper nor trader has any objection and hence there is no need for constructing new route, which will only harm the interests of the majority population of Katra town.
Sat Sharma and Ashok Kaul assured the Core Committee that the BJP will not sit as mute spectator on the issue and it will be raised with the Governor as well as CEO. They further assured that the party stands with the people and the traders of Katra and it will never allow the SMVDSB to take such decisions which invite anger and resentment of the people.
BJP Reasi District President Kuldeep Dubey, Mandal President Ajay and City President Ajay Verma also presented their resentment before the party leaders against the decision of SMVDSB.
The Core Committee members & senior workers of BJP Sharni Gupta, Romesh Shrma, Babu Ram Dubey, Pt. Sham Lal, Bheeri Suri, Dr. Hari Krishan, Puran Gupta, Rana Sanmotra, Raka Heera, Mangal Singh, Rakesh Dubey and Karan Singh, who were present in the meeting.
