Ahead of crucial by-elections in two vital Lok Sabha seats- Srinagar and Anantnag, Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice- President & Incharge Jammu and Kashmir, Avinash Rai Khanna, on Thursday held a detailed meeting with party workers at Srinagar.
Khanna is on two day visit to Kashmir to take detailed feedback from party workers. “I am here to congratulate you people for party’s massive victory in Utter Pradesh and Uttrakhand,” he said, adding, he was here to celebrate victory with party workers in Kashmir.
While greeting party high command for the success, Khanna told the workers that BJP is committed to its agenda of development and good governance in all the states of the country. “BJP’s three year rule has changed the country and people have accepted its mode of governance,” Khanna said adding that it was the reason why people voted for BJP shunning creed, caste and religion.
“People rejected the parties believing on divide and rule and voted for BJP,” he said.
BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma asked party workers to gear up for upcoming elections in the state. He asked workers to participate en masse in the elections. “We have a chance to choose leaders, who can represent us and work for our welfare,” he said.
Sharma also appreciated the youth in Kashmir for actively involving in the mainstream politics. “Youth in Kashmir is participating in political activities, which is a good trend,” he said, adding youth in Kashmir has accepted BJP for its commitment for development, good governance and welfare activities.
On the occasion, Ashok Kaul, State General Secretary (Org.), took feedback from the workers about the “Jan Sampark Yatra” and listened the genuine issues faced by people particularly in rural areas.
The party leadership also facilitated newly appointed Vice-Chairmen G M Mir, Khalid Jehangir and Dr Ali.
MLCs Sofi Yousuf and Surinder Ambardar were also present on the occasion.
After his Kashmir tour, Avinash Rai Khanna will reach Jammu to chair meeting of Jammu West and Jammu Districts at Trikuta Nagar Office on March 17 and later take part in a massive rally at Udhampur on March 18 in connection with “Vijayotsava” programmes.
