Sanjay Baru, BJP State Secretary, has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his compliment on block Reasi as Open Defecation Free (ODF) block in his “Mann Ki Baat”, a monthly radio broadcast. Sanjay Baru said, it is infact a matter of pride for all the residents of Jammu and Kashmir State that within three months, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has referred twice to border State in his “Mann Ki Baat” broadcast.
Earlier, in the month of February, Prime Minister had referred to district Kathua for its outstanding performance in carrying forward the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” programme. In the recent broadcast of “Mann Ki Baat”, PM has referred to block Reasi being officially declared as the first ODF block in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that it is a great joy and satisfaction that the Prime Minister of India has referred the achievements of the small towns of this border State in the “Mann Ki Baat” broadcast again within the span of three months.
It is pertinent to mention here that recently, Union Minister for Rural Development, Narendra Singh Tomar, along with Union Minister and local MP Dr Jitendra Singh, visited Reasi and officially declared the Reasi block, constituting 11 Panchayats, as the first ODF block of Jammu & Kashmir State in the presence of District Administration and other senior officers of the State. Sanjay Baru appreciated the works of local administration, including the special efforts of the District Commissioner, Reasi for achieving the milestone. He added that PM has again appealed to all that we have to ensure sincere steps towards cleanliness for a big success of Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan to build a great Nation. PM Modi has also appreciated the women of the area for promoting the cause, without whose efforts this was difficult to achieve. This incident will act as a trend setter and moral booster for party activists, social organizations and administration.
