Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), State President Sat Sharma will attend the last rites of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed at Bijbehara town in south Kashmir Anantnag District, on Thursday.
Sharma along with State General Secretary (Org), Ashok Koul, MLC Ramesh Arora, MLA Rajesh Gupta and other senior leaders are arriving in the Kashmir valley to participate in the last rites.
The leaders termed the Mufti’s death an irreparable loss to Jammu and Kashmir and said his departure has also left a big void not only in state but state in national politics as well.
“State has lost a great statesman, a great politician and a humble human being,” Sat Sharma said, adding, he was always pragmatic in his political approach and provided the people of the state with an alternative to the traditional politics and helped to ventilate their grievances within the national mainstream.
Ashok Koul while expressing the shock over the Mufti’s demise, who died this morning in the AIIMS, New Delhi after a brief illness said that he (Mufti) will be always remembered for his vision, leadership qualities and a statesman.
