With the sanctioning of rupees 415.73 crore for the construction of bunkers on IB /LoC for the security of the people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government has fulfilled the long pending demand of helpless border dwelling people.
This was stated by Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing media persons at BJP headquarter, along with MLC Ch. Vikram Randhawa, BJP State Secretary Sanjay Baru and State Press Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that it is indeed a matter of joy and satisfaction for the people who had been continuously suffering loss of precious human lives, crops, livestock etc. due to cross border firing. He said that the BJP had been, in the Parliament and outside, demanding security of the people living on the borders and the Union Home Minister too had been apprised of the problems of the people during his visit to border areas in Jammu. The Government at the Centre took the issue seriously and on priority and hence sanctioned rupees 415.73 crore for constructing individual and Community Bunkers in Samba, Jammu, Katra, Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu Province as these districts had been worst hit by the firing across the border.
Elaborating on the subject and sharing the official communication in this regard, Jugal Kishore Sharma told that 8 large community Bunkers of 800 sq. feet having capacity of 40 persons will be constructed in Samba, 120 large in Jammu, 243 in Kathua, 688 in Poonch and 372 large community bunkers will be constructed in Rajouri, whereas 2515 Inividual Bunkers with size of 160 Sq. feet having capacity of 8 persons will be constructed in Samba, 1200 in Jammu, 3076 in Kathua, 1320 in Poonch and 4918 bunkers will be constructed in Rajouri. In total 14460 bunkers will be constructed providing relief to the border residents. Sharma claimed it to be big achievement as the individual bunkers would serve as life saver more efficiently and quickly in case of emergency and big bunkers will provide relief in the succession.
The MP further told that the Union Home Ministry has also provided for the relief and compensation for housing damages/losses, crop losses or livestock losses, relief for stay at Relief Campus and displacement etc. to those affected by Cross Border Firing.
Jugal Kishore Sharma expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for acceding to the genuine demand of the border people.
