On the occasion of World Water Day a program was organized at Village Mamka in which M.L.A R.S Pura Constituency Dr. Gagan Bhagat was specially present as a chief guest to celebrate the World Water Day and to create awareness among the villagers the importance of conserving water .The program was celebrated with a slew of programmes to generate awareness on the need for judicious use of water and its conservation. Before the program a march by the school children was taken out by Bharatiya Janta Party office bearers and workers and was flagged off by Dr. Gagan Bhagat in the the presence of senior citizens of the Village Mamka and its adjoining villages. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Gagan said, “As water has become a depleting natural resource, one should work towards its conservation and recycling, we have to think on a comprehensive plan to not only recycle wastewater but also spread awareness on water conservation at various platforms. Dr. Gagan also informed the gathering that a rainwater harvesting structure in the Municipal Committee area will be soon created with a view to catering to the daily requirement of water for drinking and domestic purposes in the wards of the R.S Pura town, besides inculcating a culture of conservation. Meanwhile, the legislator also urged the corporate sector that under the Corporate Social Responsibility (C.S.R) they should actively contribute towards the issue of providing and conserving drinking water. He also advised that the students from the villages specially should work as Volunteers to educate other students and villagers on the ways to conserve water. A five-minute documentary, which was shown in the Village during the start of the program, which will also screened at different Private and Government schools of R.S Pura Constituency, Dr.Gagan Bhagat informed the general public. While talking to the media on the sideline of the function Dr.Gagan Bhagat said that “We tried to make people, and especially students aware about water conservation as they are young and thus they can implement things better.Later on Dr.Gagan Bhagat also visited Govt.High School Kirpind and inspected the ongoing play ground work for the development of Mini Stadium which would be completed in the coming months and would benefit the youths and will promote the sports culture in the area. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included B.D.O Miran Sahib Mohd. Sayeed, S.H.O Miran Sahib Pawan Kumar, A.E.E P.H.E A.K Bhatti, Officials of the P.H.E department, Headmaster Tara Sharma, BJP Mandal Pradhan Natharam, Harbhajan Singh ,Ashok Kumar, Shamsher Lal, Darbari Lal, Sukhbir Singh, Ram Lal, and other workers.
