Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today paid homage to martyr BSF soldier Gurnam Singh, who succumbed to his injuries late last night.
Dr. Singh expressed deep condolences and sympathies with the family of the soldier who sacrificed his life for the nation.
According to officials, the 26-year-old BSF soldier was instrumental in foiling Friday’s major infiltration bid along the international border in Kathua. Seven personnel of the Pakistani Rangers, the border force of Pakistan, and a militant, were killed when the BSF retaliated against a ceasefire violation in which Gurnam was injured.
