Dy CM meets union Ministers, projects states issues
Dr. Singh seeks funds for Mega connectivity projects
DY CM Dr Nirmal Singh today met several union ministers during his visit to Delhi and flagged several issues related to the state.
While calling on the Union Minister For road, Transport and Highways, Water resources, Nitin Gadkari, the deputy chief Minister raised the issue of conservation and protection of River Tawi River in Jammu city. He also called for taking up the pilot stretch of 3.5 kms in the first instance, passing through the main city with an estimated cost of Rs.396.525 on the pattern of the Sabarmati River Front
Dr Singh asked for releasing the funds to the tune of Rs. 396 crore , so that work can be started on this prestigious project of the Jammu City, which is coming up as one of the main attractions besides, also ensuring the conservation of historic river.
Deputy chief Minister also called for taking up the necessary measures on the proposed constuction of Panikhar(Kargil)-Chandanwari- Kishtawar road. He said that the road will act as an important link connecting the three regions of the state, besides providing the much needed connectivity to the people of these areas.
Dr singh also asked for sanctioning five new road projects to be taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 150.28 cr which include widening of road from Phinter to billawar along with widening of balance work of Sukral raod at an estimated cost of Rs. 42.94 Crore, Dyalachak Challan Road to Kouli Kupd with an estimate cost of Rs. 20.00 Crore, additional 90 meter span RCC bridge over River Jehlum at Khannabal (Anantnag) at an estimated cost of Rs. 21.04 Crore, widening/upgradation of road from NHID to Archoo choskore (21 Kms) in Kargil with an estimated cost of Rs. 24.08 Crore and widening/upgradation of road fromBroglunna waka, sherling wak, Sarak Khangral, Kuktsay and link road Tumail to gronyur Grong and Lungma Broq (length 23.30 Kms.) with an estimated cost of Rs. 42.22 crore.
Mr. Nitin Gadkari assured Dr singh that the central Government is keen to fast pace the development of State and he assured that the issues raised by him will be redressed within the shortest possible time.
Dy. Chief Minister also called on Union Minister for Civil Aviation Mr. Ashok Gajapati Raju and projected several issues related to the upgardation and augmentation of the already existing airport at Jammu and also flaged the issue of identification of the land to be acquired for the new airport. He said that a technical team should be deputed to check the feasibility of the accured land besides also settling the compensation cases.
The union Civil Aviation Minister assured the Deputy Chief Minister early redressal of the issues.
Later the Dy. Chief Minister accompanied by Member Parliamentary Mr. Jugal Kishore, also called on the union Minister for Defence Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman and raised several issues related to the security scenario and the problems being faced by the peoples living on the border areas.
The Union Minister assured Dr. Singh that issues raised would be redressed in the time bound manner.
