‘Academic calendar of S S K school launched’
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice President Yudhvir Sethi today said that every child must be provided with better education facility and centrally sponsored schemes like ‘Beti Bachao; Beti Padao’ should be put in use to achieve hundred per cent literacy amongst girls and also educate their parents about respecting human lives irrespective of their gender. This, he said will also end feticide.
Sethi was speaking at valedictory function of ‘Drawing Competition’ organized by in SSK Higher Secondary School, Marh wherein children of different standards displayed their talent of playing with colours. He also inaugurated academic calendar of the school and impressed upon teachers to imbibe moral values amongst children so that they could rise to become good citizens and contribute in developing social fabric of our society. Pramodh Kapahi Vice President BJP was the guest of honour at the occasion.
Lauding the efforts of students in painting the given subject, Yudhvir Sethi said that Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential which must be identified by teachers and simultaneously tapped. The city, he said has produced several eminent painters, musicians, artists and academicians who should be role models for children. He also appreciated staff and teaching fraternity of the institution for helping students excel in their academics as well as extracurricular activities.
Kapahi in his address said that both state as well central governments have launched massive schemes for imparting quality education to children and schools must expose children to those activities. He said that several scholarship schemes are also in offing only to ensure that no child drops out of school for want of money or other facilities. He appreciated the school management for their efforts to nurture different artistic skills amongst children.
The chief guest Mr Yudhvir Sethi was earlier welcomed by Managing Director of the institution L C Gandotra who in his speech appreciated the social and philanthropic works being done by Yudhvir Sethi in city of temples besides other areas and asserted that his works have influenced several lives and are aimed at helping the needy and deserving lot of society.
Earlier, Sethi distributed prizes amongst the winners of drawing competition. Principal of the institution Mr Suresh Kumar presented a vote of thanks and said that Mr Sethi showed keen interest in viewing each and every canvas painted by students and went around the gallery to encourage students. A memento was also presented to the chief guest.
