Flag Hoisting was done at BJP Headquarter Jawahar nagar by BJP Distt. unit Srinagar. On the occasion Distt. President Srinagar Fayaz Ahmad Bhat Hoist the National Flag, main party leaders State Media Secretary Altaf Thakur, National Vice President BJYM Er. Aijaz Hussain, Distt. Gen. Secretary and Protocol Incharge Kashmir Arif Raja, District Vice Presidents Ashok Bhat and Asif Masoodi, , Distt. Secretary Srinagar Hilal Ahamd Jan, Office Incharge Mohammad Tahir Mir, Manzoor Kulgami, Wasim Raja, State Gen. Secretary M.M Sheikh Bashir, were among others present on this occasion. After Flag Hoisting and national Anthem sweets were distributed as mark of Joy and slogans (Azad Hindustan Zindabad) were raised on the occasion.
After the function while addressing the gathering District President Srinagar Fayaz Bhat said that infact central govt will not leave any stone unturned to achieve the development targets. Central Govt is committed for development of the state. Party leders also congratulated public of Kashmir for taking part in thousands at function organized by state at Bakshi Stadium.
A change is taking place slowly and gradually in society because society at large wants to return to peace and normalcy and central govt will take every possible measure to achieve this target.
While addressing the gathering Altaf Thakur greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Independence Day. Thakur in a message said it is the duty of all citizens to protect and preserve the unity and integrity of the nation. He said on this special occasion people must join hands to negate all divisive and communal forces and promote societal harmony and brotherhood in the state. “It is must to remember that we shall be able to achieve growth and development and eradicate poverty and illiteracy only if peace and normalcy prevails.
Speaking on the occasion Arif Raja said “We must also pay tribute to the founding fathers of the Constitution of India who set for us the goals of nationhood, “he said. Raja also prayed that this year will usher peace and normalcy and bring happiness and prosperity to one and all in the state.
Speaking on the occasion Distt. vice President Ashok Bhat said, on the special occasion of Independence Day we must pay homage to the great leaders who carried out a prolonged struggle to liberate India from the colonial rule.
Also a TirangaYatra held was organised by BJYM From dalgate to Radio Kashmir Crossing Srinagar via TRC, in which huge number of youths participated. Vice chairman Kissan Board(MOS) Daljeet Singh Chib was the chief guest, after the rally flag hoisting was done at TRC Srinagar by National vice President BJYM Er. Aijaz Hussain.
