Inaugurates 648th KVIC meeting
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga, Monday called for enhancement in allocation of targets under PMEGP, organization of national-level Khadi exhibitions across the State, and improvement in designs of Khadi products.
Ganga pitched for these demands while inaugurating the 648th meeting of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) held at SKICC here.
In his inaugural address to the meeting, Ganga highlighted the achievements of the J&K Industries & Commerce Department and its efforts with regard to developing a culture of entrepreneurship in the State.
The Minister called for several initiatives needed to further boost the Khadi and Village Industries (KVI) sector in the State including marketing support for artisans involved in the KVI sector.
Ganaga also stressed on making the Khadi items more competitive in tune with prevailing competition in the market and called for promotion and improvement in their design and enhancement of their productivity in the State by roping in services of the NIFT.
He also called for organization of national level Khadi exhibitions in all three parts of the State so that boost their marketability and appeal.
The Minister also called for a more hassle-free disbursement of loans to entrepreneurs in the State. He said the benefits of Government schemes should be as easy to avail as possible.
Ganga also brought up opening of Khadi plazas in the State in his inaugural address.
Chairman KVIC, Vinay Kumar Saxena, Joint Secretary KVIC, BH Anil Kumar, Vice Chairman JKKVIB, Mansoor Hussain Sohrawardhy, among other Commission members from all states of the country were present in the meeting
