Good Governance Department of State BJP organised Conference of Intelligentia in connection with the Foundation Day of the party in its State Office at Trikuta Nagar. The Chief Guest of the conference was Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in PMO, Department of Personnel, Public Grievance & Pension, Department of Atomic Energy & Space and Incharge Development of North East Region. BJP State President & MLA, Sat Sharma presided over the conference. Others who shared the dais were State Health Minister Bali Bhagat, Mos Transport Sunil Sharma, Ex-President & MLC Ashok Khajuria, State Spokesperson & Incharge of Good Governance Department Prof. Virender Gupta.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, while addressing the gathering, said that the present alliance with PDP was aimed to provide Good Governance for the speedy development of the J&K State. BJP has not compromised on its ideology, it still steadfast to it. The alliance was the responsibility of the BJP and the PDP as both the parties were trusted by the masses and gave mandate in their favour to form the government while entering into an alliance with common minimum programme. There was no option for the National Conference and the Congress but to sit in the opposition as they were rejected by the people for their misdeeds and anti-people policies, while in the government. He stressed upon the workers of the party and those who support the party not to be defensive on this account.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that at present the BJP is ruling in sixteen states as the people of the country have expressed their trust on the part that is pursuing the agenda of development. In some of the states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, the party has won the confidence of the people three times, defying the incumbency theory. Party does not believe in polarization politics on the basis of caste, creed and religion but works on the ideology of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas”. The people of the country have realized that the party stands for welfare of all the sections of the society in particular of the neglected, down trodden and poor. That is why its vote percentage is increasing day by day. He asked the state unit of the party to impress on the state government for the implementation of GST in the state.
He also said that present era belongs to the youth as they constitute 60 percent population of the country and all the programmes should be youth centred. He named the various welfare schemes launched by the present government at the centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that demonetization was the bold step taken by the present government and inspite of the hardships faced by the common people, they trusted honesty and sincerity of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and voted in favour of the BJP in the recent held assembly elections.
Sat Sharma, in his address, elaborated on the series of the programmes being organised from April 6th to 14th of April. He traced the history of BJP growth right from the days of Praja Prashad and Jana Sangh. It was because of the dedicated, honest leadership and nationalistic and pro people policies that it gained strength day by day. The sacrifices made by its workers for the cause of the party and the nation cannot be forgotten. He highlighted the various schemes including Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Beti Bachoo Beti Padhoo, Fasal Bima Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana etc. He called upon the party activist to take pledge to involve the youth in every programme of the party.
Earlier, Prof. Virender Gupta, delivered welcome address and spoke on the objectives of the central leadership of the BJP to send the MPs to various parliamentary constituencies, staying for 48 hours and addressing the public gathering and interacting with the party workers. He added that this is being done to boost the morale of the party workers and apprise the public about the achievements made by the central governments headed by Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee and now Sh. Narendra Modi.
Besides BJP State Office Bearers, party MLAs, senior leaders, Morcha and District Presidents, the conference was also attended by a large number of prominent citizens, social activists and the supporters of the party.
Dr.Hari Dutt Shishu conducted the proceedings of the programme while Parneesh Mahajan presented vote of thanks.
