Christmas Gold T20 Tournament concludes
JAMMU: BJP led Government at the Centre is keen to spot local talent and hone their skills which will match the national and international standards. He said government is committed to provide the best facilities to the UT’s budding sporting talents.
This was stated by Shri Yudhvir Sethi, BJP J&K Vice President during the Final Match of Christmas Gold Cup T20 Tournament-2020 organized by the All J&K Christian Welfare Association at MA Stadium Jammu.
Shri Yudhvir Sethi, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, said that sports is on top priority of Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that is why Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing massive infrastructural development in terms of construction of modern day cricket stadiums, sports complexes and Khelo India programmes being implemented in a big way.
Shri Yudhvir Sethi said that sports has a unique power to change the minds of the people. “In a place like Jammu and Kashmir, sports can build the bridges. It can take the UT out of difficult times and our youth can really play their positive role in the development of UT. Sports are as essential for life as academics,” he added.
Shri Yudhvir Sethi congratulated the All J&K Christian Welfare Association for organizing a T20 tournament in most professional manner. He said such tournaments will enable to identify talent amongst young cricketers as it will also keep out young generation away from evils of society like drugs and liquor.
The senior BJP leader said that J&K is blessed with unique talent and huge potential which needed to be harnessed in full. He asked the organizers to keep on conducting such kind of sport events so that the youth can be provided with appropriate platform.
Earlier, the Final match of T20 Tournament was played between Game Changers and Champions Cricket Club in which Game Changer won the match by 50 runs. A total of 15 matches were organized during the tournament. Govind Sharma was announced Man of the Match while the award of Man of the Series was shared by Bhanu Gupta and Yogesh Sikka.
Corporator Anil Masoom, Organising Secretary Yousuf Don, Rubina Akhtar BJP leader, Teastus Sotra, David, Ashu, Lawrance Sotra, Sebastian, Sunny Khokar, Naridner Gupta Chairman DFA Jammu, Kamaljit, Shehnaz Iqbal and Rajesh Sumbri were also present.
