It is an alliance for governance: Nirmal Singh

Claiming that the BJP has not deviated from its agenda and core issues, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh said that both BJP and PDP has honoured the mandate of the people of Kashmir and Jammu and came together for governance. He was addressing the inaugural session of the Jammu District Working Committee on Thursday. It was organized under District President Baldev Singh Billawria.

Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the people of Jammu & Kashmir had voted overwhelming in favour of BJP and PDP respectively as they were fed up of the NC and Congress and brought in our coalition to fulfill their desire of good governance and corruption free administration.

Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Jammu city has always remained the epicenter of political activities since decades. “Right from 1947, Jammu city stands witness to historic agitations and developments and has the pride of being  birth place of great Dogra leaders like Pt. Premnath Dogra and Vaid Vishnu Dutt”, Dr. Nirmal Singh said and added that the state government is working towards developing Jammu as a tourist hub so that trade and business do not suffer. Making an appeal to the people not to get misled by the false propaganda against BJP, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that comparison between the decades rules of Congress and that of Atal Behari Vajpayee and present Narendra Modi government itself speaks as to who has been pro-people, pro-development and concerned for the common masses.

Speaking on various ongoing development projects in Jammu city, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Tawi River Front Beautification Project, Artificial Lake, Mubarak Mandi heritage development project, Gondola, multitier parking in Jammu city, are few such important projects which are aimed at making tourists stay here for 2-3 days, which will benefit the traders, daily earning people and give employment to youth.

Speaker & Gandhi Nagar MLA Kavinder Gupta spoke on various centrally sponsored schemes, while Jammu East MLA & Chief Whip Rajesh Gupta spoke on Antodaya and Ekatm Manavaad.

MLC Ashok Khajuria spoke on various welfare schemes of booth, centre and state governments and also the present situation in the state.

Similarly, State Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi spoke on party’s policies and State Vice-President Rajni Sethi spoke on working of different departments established by the party.

State Secretary Anuradha Charak spoke on various schemes exclusively launched for women.

Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma applauded the women centric schemes of the Modi government as well as BJP coalition in the state.

District President Baldev Singh Billawaria, delivered the welcome address and also briefed about programmes undertaken during last 3 months.

Proceedings were conducted by District General Secretaries Vinay Gupta and Sunil Sharma and Pushotam Sharma recited Varg Geet.

The meeting also adopted a resolution on development of Jammu District and also the achievements Centre and State government.

Similar, Working Committee Meeting of Udhampur District was held at Ramnagar and addressed by State General Secretary Pawan Khajuria, MLA R.S Pathania, Senior leader Som Raj Khajuria, District President Rakesh Gupta, local leaders Master Gopal Dass, Adv. Mohan Lal and Puran Chand. Proceedings of this meeting were conducted by Ramneek Sharma.
