JDA MoU, Jatwal Grid station will change Jammu’s development face

More feathers in coalition’s cap soon: Balbir

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and dedication of Grid station at Jatwal to public besides inauguration of evacuation line in a single day by the State Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on Tuesday, speaks volumes about the concern and commitment of PDP-BJP coalition government towards accelerating developmental works promoting tourism in Jammu province.BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, termed the dedication of 400/220 KV Grid station to the public and inauguration of 220 KV evacuation line as most timely step and said that this will ensure more reliable power distribution infrastructure in Jammu region and provide corresponding respite to the public on power supply front. Initiative to develop Jammu Tawi on the pattern of Sabarmati river by signing and exchange of MoU between Jammu Development Authority and Sabarmati River Front Development Corporation of Ahmedabad for management consultancy for technical assistance, is the most imaginative and productive measure that will enhance image of Jammu in terms of province’s development and progress, added Balbir.
He further said that it will provide attractive and eye-catching tourist facility, resulting in increase in influx of tourists, which will further create employment opportunities. He said that during the last one year of PDP-BJP coalition, a number of development projects have been taken in hand, which on completion will take the state of Jammu and Kashmir into an era of progress and prosperity.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that dedication of Grid Station and signing MoU for River Tawi also reflects the commitment of the state government to treat all the three regions equitably, unlike previous governments of NC and Congress, which always gave preferential treatment to Kashmir in all matters and at all levels. The Congress ministers in successive governments did not bother themselves vis-a-vis problems and development of Jammu nor did they bother to ensure that it gets its due share in matters related to development.
“BJP has always stood for ending discrimination with Jammu and now while sharing power with PDP, our party has been ensuring that its ministers do not surrender or compromise the interests of Jammu”, Balbir said and expressed hope that more projects will be started in Jammu province aimed at developing tourists spots and in giving boost to development and infrastructural related activities. This is just the beginning as may more such projects are on anvil, the BJP leader asserted, adding that these steps will be seen as feathers in the cap of PDP-BJP coalition government.
