In a simple but impressive function, J&K State Social Welfare Board distributed wheel chairs and stretcher trolleys to the needy persons with Disabilities and Regional Red Cross Society Jammu. Presently MLC, Ashok Khajuria, who was Chief Guest of the occasion, gave away these appliances to the lesser privileged of the Society. At the very out set Chairperson, J&K State Social Welfare Board, Dr. (Prof.) Nirmal Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest and gave brief about the functioning of J&K State Social Welfare Board.
Ashok Khajuria appreciated the activities performed by the J&K State Social Welfare Board and also termed the distribution of appliances to the physically disabled as much required gesture and called it a historical day when the Board with limited resources has been able to reach out to the needy. Ashok Khajuria in his brief address gave commitment to the Board to cooperate where ever the J&K Social Welfare Board required his services. He also gave commitment that he will provide assistance out of CDF whenever required.
Dinesh Gupta, officiating Secretary Regional Red Cross Society, Jammu, Dinesh Gupta and Ms. Ansuyisa Khosa, Board Members of the J&K State Social Welfare Board, and various representatives of Voluntary Organizations besides staff and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion which was presided by the Chairperson, J&K State Social Welfare Board.
