In order to review the development activities, Speaker J&K Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta held threadbare meetings with the officers of PDD, PHE, PWD(R&B), JMC and Rural Devlopment department at his official residence here today.
The Speaker sought status report from the officers regarding the directions issued from time to time for taking the new works and the works in hand.
During the meeting various issues pertaining to construction of lane/Drains, Blacktopping of roads, replacement of old LT/HT conductor & poles, laying of pipelines, augmentation of new electric substations, tubewells & OHT’s, implementations of centrally sponsored schemes were deliberated upon.
The meeting was informed that the tender and allotment for blacktopping of Digiana, Nai Basti, Nanak Nagar, Sanjay Nagar and other areas have been done and the work will be completed by the end of next month.
It was also informed that the work for augmentation of Tubewells and Substations are also in the final stage as NOC’s are awaited from few departments, the work for replacement of worn out cables is going on in full swing as department has procured the material through the CDF and addtionality funds provided to them by the Speaker.
The Speaker stressed for maintaining the quality of work rendered by these line departments and asked to refrain from use of any sub standard material; any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously and responsibility shall be fixed, he added.
Later, he handed over a letter with an amount of Rs 5 lakhs out of his constituency development fund (CDF) to the residents of Nanak Nagar for completing the remaining work for construction of community hall in the area.
SDM South, Sonu Pargal, BDO Satwari, A.K Khajuria, Xen PWD(R&B), Rajan Mengi, Xen PHE, J.P Singh, Xen PDD, Sanjay Sharma, AEE’s JMC, Gurcharan Singh & Rajiv Pandoh along with other officers of the departments attended the meeting.
