Minister for Forests and Environment Lal Singh today distributed prizes among the winners of 7th J&K State Shooting Championship, which was held at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s Indoor Shooting Range, Katra. The championship held from August 23 to 28 in Sub-Junior, Youth, Junior and Senior Categories in pistol and rifle events was organized by J&K Rifle Association in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Lal Singh in his address said that he is always available to render all help to aspiring sportsmen of the State. He was very happy to learn that the shooters from Jammu and Kashmir are performing exceptionally well at national level. Among others present were Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Senior Vice President JKRA, Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDSB, Mohan Lal SSP, Sanam Sony, General Secretary JKRA, VS Pathania, Executive Member JKRA, Rahil Gupta, Member J&K State Sports Council, Mannu Hansa, Assistant CEO SMVDSB, Sunil, General Secretary J&K Archery Association, Sameer Kotwal, SP Katra, Sher Singh, Zorawar Singh, Secretary Press Club Jammu, TS Toni, Executive Member JKRA, Anupam Sambyal, District President Samba Rifle Association, Vineet Gupta, District Secretary Udhampur Rifle Association, Sharat Chander Singh, Treasurer J&K Rifle Association and prominent citizens of Katra. In Sub-Junior Men (Air Rifle), Amrit Singh Gill, M Zeeshan and Arun Sharma, trio from District Udhampur claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Youth Men (Air Rifle), Ajit Singh from Rajouri District, Anish from Udhampur District and Bilal Ahmed from Rajouri District bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In Junior Men (Air Rifle), Sarfroash Sharma from District Rajouri, Arjun Chib from Jammu District and Pankaj Sharma from Udhampur District secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Senior Men (Air Rifle), Arun Sharma, Vikramjeet Singh and Ranjit Chopra, trio from District Jammu emerged winners. In Sub-Junior Men (Air Pistol), Divyansh Singh Charak, Sheryas Mohan and Antas from Jammu District bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Youth Men (Air Pistol), Additya Anand from Udhampur District, Karanveer Singh and Ikjyot Singh, both from Jammu District clinched first, second and third positions respectively. In Junior Men (Air Pistol), Sangram Singh, Abhay Gupta and Namandeep Singh, trio from Jammu District bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Senior Men (Air Pistol), Manish Kumar, Harshdeep Singh and Amandeep Raina, trio from Jammu District emerged winners. In Sub-Junior Women (Air Rifle), Janvi and Mohini Arora, both from Kathua District and Neeharika from Udhampur District bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Youth Women (Air Rifle), Saumya Saksena from Jammu District, Tanisha Bandral and Kritika, both from Kathua District claimed first, second and third positions respectively. In Junior Women (Air Rifle), Umang from District Udhampur secured first position, whereas in Senior Women (Air Rifle), Annu Sharma from Kathua District, Joythsna and Deepika Singh, both from Jammu District bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In Sub-Junior Women (Air Pistol), Kavya Kochhar and Shreya Chouhan, both from Jammu District and Shivani from Kathua District bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Youth Women (Air Pistol), Khushbu, Anubha Suryavanshi and Aastha, trio from Jammu District emerged winners. In Senior Women (Air Pistol), Greety Mahajan and Shagun Charak, both from Jammu District and Shivani from Samba District clinched first, second and third positions respectively. The matches were conducted by qualified coaches and technical officials Rajesh Virdhy, Surinder Singh, Tarun Dev Singh and Amandeep Raina as per NRAI rules. Moreover, blazers were presented to shooters of J&K, who have won medals at National Level. Shreya Saksena won Gold Medal in .22 Rifle in 35th North Zone Shooting Championship 2015, Aman Singh secured Bronze Medal in .22 Rifle in 2nd Sportz Craft Shooting Championship 2015, Rajinder Kumar bagged Bronze Medal in .22 Rifle in All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship 2015 and Romijeet Singh won Gold Medal in Centre Fire Pistol and Silver Medal in Standard Pistol in 35th North Zone Shooting Championship 2015.
