In the state assembly MLA Rajesh Gupta asked the government regarding the present status of the identification of land and construction of two AIIMS infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir provinces of the state.
Rajesh Gupta also asked the government regarding the funds alloted and released by the Govt.Of India in this regard.Rajesh Gupta also asked the government the date when the construction work on the institutions will be started and completed.In reply to the question no 619 of Shri Rajesh Gupta the Minister incharge Health and Medical Education Department replied that the land has been identified at Samba in Jammu division and at Awantipora in Kashmir division for the establishment of two AIIMS.The Minister in charge further said that the projects are to be executed by govt of India and the necessary details in this regard are to be intimated by the Govt Of India.Minister further said that funds amounting to rupees 2000 crores each (Total rupees 4000 crores )has been earmarked under PMs package for setting up of two AIIMS one each at Kashmir and Jammu.The minister further said that the projects are to be executed by the Govt Of India and necessary details in this regard are to be intimated by the Govt Of India.Rajesh Gupta while responding to the minister asked as to how the government will address the chronic shortage of doctors in these institutions like AIIMS and five other medical colleges that are going to be constructed in the future.
Rajesh Gupta said that there is already shortage of doctors and teaching faculty in Super Specialty Hospital Jammu and in the Medical Colleges at Jammu and also at Srinagar.
