Member Legislative Council, Advocate Vibodh Gupta, today inaugurated the Construction of Path from main ground Degree College to Auditorium worth Rs 5 lakh, which was long pending demand of students of Govt. Post Graduate Degree College Rajouri, who were suffering a lot due to its dilapidated condition. Prof. Shabir Ahmed Shah, Principal Govt. PG College, Rajouri along with Teachers and Students welcomed MLC in the College premises with garlands. Mr. Shah in his welcome address, said that providing funds out of CDF Gupta, is being acknowledged with deep heart and students of the college now comfortably move within the campus. He thanked MLC in his speech for fulfilling his announcement made in the inaugural function of Workshop held in Auditorium of the College. Gupta while addressing the gathering said that promotion of Education sector is the top priority of the coalition Govt in general and of Education Minister in particular. He said that development must be such that it positively transforms the lives of the common people and youth of the Nation as well. Gupta said that he shall always extend all possible help to the Educational Institutions of the District and will try to resolve their pending issues, as he is here to work for the welfare of public, among which Students shall always be preferred. There was a time when politicians just visit for the votes, but I used to visit Educational institutions happily, to encourage the out shining students of the District and also try to address the grievances of the Students and Teachers. He also congratulated the teaching community for outshining results of the students studying in Govt. schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta also quoted that he want complete development of Rajouri district and in the first phase, face lifting of Rajouri Town has been taken up, where streets and foot roads were in ramshackle and there was no development visible on ground in the town for the last 10 years. He said that various developmental works are in progress worth in crores in the town. He said that this will provide big relief to the people of the town and commuters who used to visit Rajouri market. He said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy C.M. Dr.Nirmal Singh also believes in the development and both State and Centre are moving forward towards new era of development during Modi-Mufti regimes at Centre and in the State.
Later on the request of warden of Girls Hostel, Mr. Gupta also inspected the functioning of Girls Hostel. The warden of the hostel, also requested for the Construction of Compound Wall around the Hostel to ensure the security. Gupta on spot issued directions to the AWEE, PWD (R&B) Division Rajouri for the preparation of DPR and assured the Principal that he shall take up the matter for the release of funds at the earliest.
