Says BJP Doesn’t Sell Dreams; We Deliver, NC-Congress Misled Nation for Decades
In a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Er. Gulam Ali Khatana lambasted the coalition for peddling what he termed as, a bundle of lies, in their manifesto for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
Er. Gulam Ali Khatana ridiculed NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah for what he described as a belated realization that altering the Parliament’s decision is far from simple.
Er. Gulam Ali Khatana did not mince words when addressing Abdullah’s recent comment that it might take 100 years to restore Article 370. “Within just ten days of releasing their manifesto, Dr. Farooq Abdullah has realized that changing Parliament’s decision is not a cup of tea,” Er. Gulam Ali Khatana said, taking a direct swipe at the NC leader.
He criticized the NC-Congress alliance from the very beginning, urging the people to be wary of what he called the Alliance of Sins and Lies. Abdullah’s admission demonstrates a profound disconnect between the NC-Congress leadership and the political realities of India, the MP said.
The BJP leader accused the NC-Congress of making promises that are beyond their power to fulfill. “Make promises to the public that you can fulfill,” Er. Gulam Ali Khatana reprimanded. He pointed out that while the restoration of statehood and Article 370 are central to the NC-Congress campaign, these issues lie firmly within the jurisdiction of the Parliament, not state or union territory governments. “You cannot guarantee something that is the prerogative of the Parliament when the States or UTs have limited power compared to the Parliament,” Er. Gulam Ali Khatana said, highlighting what he sees as the NC-Congress’s attempt to mislead voters with unattainable goals.
Er. Gulam Ali Khatana emphasized that the BJP’s commitments are grounded in practicality and constitutional realities, unlike the NC-Congress, which he accused of playing politics with issues beyond their control.
Er. Gulam Ali Khatana underscored the BJP’s commitment to the development and stability of Jammu and Kashmir, contrasting it with what he described as the NC-Congress’s history of failed leadership. He reminded the audience of the promises made by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah regarding the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. “When Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji had promised restoration of statehood to J&K, why are you (NC-Congress) making it an issue?” Er. Gulam Ali Khatana questioned, suggesting that the opposition is attempting to exploit this sensitive issue for electoral gain.
Er. Gulam Ali Khatana expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for October 4th. “Our government delivered what it promised. Assembly elections are taking place in J&K on the 4th of October, and with the blessing of the people, the BJP will form its government,” he asserted, indicating the BJP’s optimism about securing a mandate in the region.
In a stark warning, Khatana urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to be vigilant against political leaders who, according to him, have a history of promoting violence and instability for their own benefit. “I had already, and now once again, I appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to beware of scammers and fraudsters who promoted gun culture and bloodshed in J&K to save their chair,” he declared, in a thinly veiled attack on the NC-Congress leadership.
He reiterated the BJP’s vision for Jammu and Kashmir, positioning the party as the true champion of peace, progress, and development in the region. “Our leadership wants to see J&K as a model state of the country. No stone is being left unturned to develop Jammu and Kashmir. Our party doesn’t sell dreams; we do whatever is necessary in the national interest,” he stated.
