BJP Mahila Morcha District Jammu President Rekha Mahajan, along with his team, visited Gynaecology OPD of Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, to have stock of the arrangements made by the hospital administration in connection with nation-wide programme of providing Free Aid on 9th of the month for the benefit of the pregnant women, particularly belonging to poor and weaker sections.
Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Arun Sharma, briefed the Mahila Morcha team that facilities like weighing, blood pressure checkup, haemoglobin, HIV, blood test, ultrasound etc have been made available as per the guidelines from the Union government under “Paradhan Mantri Suraksha Malritva Abhiyaan”, wherein every government run hospital has to organised one day special check up of pregnant women on 9th of the every month.
Rekha Mahajan and other activists of morcha, interacted with the pregnant women and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. They also shared with them that every pregnant women is entitled to get Rs 1000 after delivery as a help to meet few small expenses. Rakha Mahajan also advised these women to avail the free tests and medicines from the government hospitals instead of going to private clinics and medical stores.
Rekha Mahajan also went through the Gynae ward in the Hospital and had healthy interactions with a number of women. She expressed gratitude to the Narendra Modi government at the centre on behalf of the womenfolk, for launching various schemes exclusively for the women.
Mahila Morcha District General Secretary Savita Anand, Pooja Chouhan, Anu Basin, Surinder Kour, Surekha, Darshana Sharma and other activists accompanied the District President.
