The party’s Tiranga Yatra ,which started on Saturday from Hiranagar under Doda-Udhampur MP & Union MoS Dr.Jitendra Singh, entered Basohli district, where BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma along with District President & MLA Jeevan Lal, District Prabhari Vijay Sharma and Seh-Prabhari Ved Mankotia, flagged it off and later joined to lead it for passing through Nagrota Gujru, Mahanpur, Basohli and Billawar Mandals of the district. On reaching Atal Setu in Basohli, the party activists crossed this bridge on foot with tricolors in hands.
Sat Sharma also addressed party activists and general public at a number of places and briefed about the ongoing Tiranga Yatra. He said that the party at the national level has chalked out fortnight programmes to celebrate the 70thIndependence Day across the country and the state unit of BJP has also geared up its cadre in all the three regions to organized variety of events to highlight the sacrifices of the people during independence struggle besides making the general public aware about the importance of strengthening the nationalist forces to defeat the evil design of the anti-national elements.
Sat Sharma said that BJP MPs have been assigned the responsibility of taking out Tiranga Yatra in their respective Parliamentary constituencies and cover every area on two wheelers with National Flag in hands. The party office bearers, seniors leaders and local teams are also accompanying the Yatra when it reaches different districts and mandals. Similarly BJP Mahila Morcha, Yuva Morcha, Kissan Morcha, SC Morcha, party Cells and units at Mandal and Booth levels are also organizing programmes through different events with a common motive.
Sat Sharma was also accompanied by Basohli District Vice-Presidents Jagdev Singh and Surinder Gupta, Mandal President Sham Singh, Mandal General Secretary Prahlad Singh, State Kissan Advisory Board Member Davender Singh, Shiv Kumar Padha, Chander Mohan Sharma and Anil Salaria.
